Cosmetic dentistry is a great way to achieve the dream smile you’ve always wanted. There might be several treatments that’ll fix the flaws in your grin, but you might be worried about how getting them will impact your bank account. Thankfully, there are some ways that you can enhance your teeth while sticking to your budget. Here are four tips that can help you make these services more affordable.

1.)  Consider All Your Treatment Options

When you look into cosmetic dental treatments, you might be surprised that some of them are already affordable while also giving you quick, noticeable results. For instance, professional whitening can brighten your smile by up to eight shades, whether in-office or with your dentist’s take-home kit. Direct bonding is another option that’s often affordable, as it uses composite resin to fix chips, gaps, and uneven edges.

These two services take just about an hour to complete in-office, but they can give you a refreshed look that you feel more confident in.

2.)  Sign Up for a Membership Plan

Your dental practice may offer an in-house membership plan that can give you discounts on certain treatments. These often include preventive care along with discounts on other services you need. This may include cosmetic dentistry, which isn’t generally covered by dental insurance. That way, you can feel confident getting a percentage off of them for your smile.

3.)  Use Your Dental Insurance When You Can

As was mentioned above, cosmetic treatments don’t usually get any coverage with dental insurance. However, this doesn’t mean that you aren’t able to use it in some cases! You can use it for your checkups and cleanings. Through these visits, your dentist can clean off hardened plaque, which can lessen minor aesthetic issues.

You may also be able to have a portion of restorative procedures covered by your insurance policy. Getting a crown or filling will help give you back the function of the tooth, but many dentists have started to offer metal-free versions. Their appearance is much more lifelike, meaning that it’ll blend in seamlessly with your smile as well.

4.)  Spread Out Your Treatment Plan

While at your cosmetic dentistry consultation, you will be able to talk about your goals and what you expect your results to be. This will help your dentist come up with a plan that you can follow. Instead of jumping into it right away and getting everything done as soon as possible, consider going through them over time. This will help give you a chance to save; that way, you gradually work toward your goals without paying as much out of pocket.
